$5 billion for « A Coffee With » in Dubai: Amir Abo spills the beans on Cheikh Yérim Seck and Gelongal
When questioned by L’Observateur about the aspect of the case opposing him to journalist Cheikh Yérim Seck and the production company Gelongal, Amir Abo revisited the origin and the sums involved in the dispute. The businessman explained that it was Cheikh Yérim Seck who introduced him to the members of the Gelongal group, who had come to seek his support in securing opportunities for filming a new season of the television series « Un Café avec » in Saudi Arabia and Dubai. Abo Mbacké claims to have been « completely taken aback » when he discovered the financial package presented to him. « It involved two projects valued at $5 billion, » he states, which is approximately 2,804 billion CFA francs. He maintains that he signed no contracts and gave no agreement whatsoever. After the project failed, his interlocutors initially demanded 100 million CFA francs in damages, before reducing their claim to 15 million CFA francs. The businessman rejects these demands and challenges his accusers to produce evidence. « Let them produce the slightest proof of their claims, if they have any. If they succeed, I am ready to pay them even 100 million, » he asserted to the newspaper of the Groupe Futurs Médias.
