Senior Accountant – Michael Page International (UAE) Limited

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage end-to-end accounting operations for our client at their office in Arjan, Dubai. This role oversees financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls to support accurate and efficient financial management across the business.

Description

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using the company’s accounting systems

· Prepare and post accounting entries across assets, liabilities, revenue, and expense categories

· Oversee the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of all financial transactions

· Prepare monthly financial statements including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, petty cash and cash flow reports

· Manage accounts payable and receivable with timely invoice processing and collections

· Review ageing reports and monitor cash inflows

· Reconcile all bank accounts and credit card transactions

· Support monthly close and year‑end closing activities

· Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial analysis to support decision-making

· Monitor cash flow and identify risks or improvement opportunities

· Ensure compliance with UAE VAT and Corporate Tax filings and documentation

· Prepare audit schedules and assist with internal and external audit requirements

· Generate accurate financial and management reports on a regular basis

· Identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions and process improvements

· Recommend updates to accounting systems, policies and internal controls

· Develop and document accounting policies and processes to enhance governance

· Maintain confidentiality and ensure adherence to regulatory standards

· Perform ad-hoc financial reporting and accounting tasks as needed

Profile

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce

· Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA

· Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within logistics or freight forwarding

· Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and UAE tax regulations

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Sage 300, NetSuite or Oracle

· Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills

· Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and perform under pressure

· Highly detail-oriented with the ability to work independently

· UAE experience is mandatory – candidates must be based in the UAE
