Mechanical Design Engineer – Al Otaiba Enterprises LLC
Summary:
Responsible for leading the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems, with a primary focus on conveyor systems used in industrial, manufacturing, or logistics environments. This role requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to coordinate cross-disciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: (Include but not limited to the following)
- Design and develop conveyor systems including belt, roller, chain, and custom conveyors.
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models of mechanical components and assemblies.
- Perform engineering calculations (e.g., belt tension, load distribution, shaft sizing, drive selection).
- Generate bills of materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and fabrication drawings.
- Select mechanical components such as motors, gearboxes, bearings, and pulleys.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, controls, and manufacturing engineers.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
- Support product development, prototyping, and on-site commissioning when required.
- Conduct design reviews and implement design-for-manufacturing (DFM) principles.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues during production or installation.
