Finance Manager / Chief Accountant (Events) — Dubai – Emagine Solutions FZE
Salary: up to AED 30,000/month (depending on experience)
We’re recruiting for an established Events business in Dubai and we’re hiring a hands-on Finance Manager / Chief Accountant to own the day-to-day finance function and keep the numbers clean, tight, and decision-ready. This is a “roll up your sleeves” role — you’ll be close to operations, suppliers, and project teams, not stuck in theory.
What you’ll be doing
- Own month-end close: journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and reporting
- Lead AP/AR end-to-end (supplier payments, client invoicing, collections, credit control)
- Manage cashflow forecasting and working capital (you’ll be the early-warning system)
- Oversee event/project costing: budgets vs actuals, margin tracking, profitability by event
- Ensure VAT compliance (UAE): filings, documentation, audit trail, and best practice
- Maintain strong internal controls across payments, approvals, and procurement spend
- Prepare management accounts and clear dashboards for leadership (no fluff)
- Coordinate with external auditors / tax advisors when required
- Support commercial decisions: pricing, payment terms, supplier negotiations, and risk
What we’re looking for
- Proven Finance Manager / Chief Accountant experience (ideally events, hospitality, media, or project-based businesses)
- Strong accounting fundamentals (GL, close, reconciliations, controls)
- Confident with UAE VAT and practical compliance
- Solid Excel skills; comfortable working with accounting/ERP systems
- Commercial mindset: you understand margins, cash, and how events actually run
- Calm under pressure, detail-driven, and able to push back when needed
Nice to have
- Experience with multi-entity reporting or high-volume supplier/client transactions
- Team leadership experience (even small teams)
- Immediate/short notice availability
