The Role
As an Estimator, you’ll take a project’s floor plans, door schedules, and Fire Life Safety (FLS) drawings, and translate them into a preliminary hardware schedule — a detailed, technical exercise that sits at the intersection of architecture, life safety, and precision documentation. You’ll then produce the final schedule using our in-house software.
What you’ll be doing:
- Reading floor plans to identify and locate every door, and interpreting door schedules to understand each door’s parameters
- Reading FLS drawings to identify escape routes and understanding how FLS requirements shape the hardware specification for each door on that route
- Cross-referencing floor plans, door schedules, and FLS data to build accurate, preliminary hardware (ironmongery) schedules
- Entering finalised data into our bespoke software to generate project hardware schedules
