Job Purpose

To support the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective clinical and personal care within a busy outpatient clinic environment. 

The Assistant Nurse plays a key role in supporting physicians and nursing teams, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and continuity of care.

Role Overview

This is a clinic-based Assistant Nurse role supporting physicians and nursing staff in the delivery of outpatient care at our Discovery Gardens clinic.

The role is suited to a hands-on Assistant Nurse with strong clinical support experience, who is comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient environment and assisting with patient assessments, procedures, and daily clinical operations.

Key Responsibilities

Support physicians and nurses in delivering high-quality patient care

Monitor and record vital signs, escalating abnormalities appropriately

Ensure patient dignity, privacy, consent, and safety at all times

Assist in managing patients with chronic conditions (e.g. respiratory, cardiac, diabetic)

Support physicians during clinical procedures and examinations

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

Communicate patient updates effectively with the clinical team

Respond to emergencies within scope and escalate as required

Follow infection control, patient safety, and safeguarding protocols

Provide emotional support to patients and families

Attend mandatory training, including BLS and emergency response

Additional Responsibilities

Support safe use and basic maintenance of clinical equipment

Assist with stock management and replenishment of medical supplies

Participate in ongoing training and professional development

Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment
