Dubai launches joint RTA-Police patrols to enforce new e-scooter and bicycle rules
From 1 May 2026 Dubai will field joint RTA–Police patrols to enforce helmet, speed-limit and lane rules for e-scooters and bicycles. Non-compliant devices risk on-the-spot impoundment. The move gives teeth to Executive Council Resolution 13 of 2022 and signals that micro-mobility must now meet the same compliance standards as other transport modes.
