Site Automation Power ELV Engineer – NSDA Holding

       The Automation, Power & ELV Systems Engineer is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and managing all works related to building automation (BMS/SCADA), power supply (LV/MV systems), and extra-low voltage (ELV) systems such as IT, CCTV, access control, fire alarm, and telecommunications. The role covers the full project lifecycle — from design review and procurement through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover. Working as part of the General Contractor’s site team, the Engineer ensures that all automation and electrical works are implemented efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with approved design documentation, specifications, and UAE authority regulations (ADDC, Civil Defense, DMT, etc.).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Supervision and Coordination

  • Supervise and coordinate all works related to automation (BMS/SCADA), power (LV/MV), and ELV systems within the project site
  • Review design and shop drawings for automation, power, and ELV systems to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with project requirements and standards (IEC, ADDC, NFPA, KNX, BACnet, Modbus)
  • Coordinate system integration between BMS/SCADA and HVAC, lighting, electrical, safety, and process systems
  • Organize and manage subcontractors and suppliers for automation and electrical works to ensure timely and high-quality execution
  • Review and approve material submittals, method statements, and ITPs for automation, power, and ELV systems
  • Support the development of control logic diagrams, SCADA user interfaces, and sequence of operations

Site Management, Inspection, and Execution Control

  • Plan and organize daily and weekly activities of subcontractors executing automation, power, and ELV systems
  • Supervise installation of BMS panels, controllers, sensors, electrical panels, cabling, and communication networks
  • Inspect and verify installation quality, conformity to approved drawings, and adherence to manufacturer specifications
  • Ensure that all connections, terminations, grounding, and protective devices meet safety and operational standards
  • Confirm completed work quantities and verify subcontractor progress for interim and final payments
  • Coordinate delivery, storage, and handling of electrical and automation equipment on-site
  • Maintain daily records and prepare site reports outlining progress, quality status, and technical issues

Testing, Commissioning, and Documentation

  • Organize and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for automation and electrical systems
  • Supervise pre-commissioning and commissioning of BMS, power, and ELV systems, ensuring all parameters meet project and authority requirements
  • Verify programming, configuration, and integration of control systems (e.g., Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider, Tridium)
  • Oversee testing and handover of fire alarm, CCTV, and access control systems in compliance with Civil Defense and authority regulations
  • Ensure preparation, verification, and submission of as-built documentation for automation, power, and ELV systems
  • Prepare system test reports, punch lists, and ensure closure of all deficiencies before project handover

Coordination and Reporting

  • Coordinate technical activities between subcontractors, consultants, and other disciplines (HVAC, civil, mechanical)
  • Conduct site coordination meetings and submit detailed progress reports to the Project Manager and Senior MEP Manager
  • Participate in inspections with ADDC, Civil Defense, and other authorities for system approvals
  • Support procurement and logistics departments by verifying equipment specifications and delivery schedules
  • Monitor project schedule compliance for automation and electrical scope, identifying potential delays and corrective measures

Team Management

  • Supervise and guide subordinate engineers, technicians, and site inspectors working on automation and electrical systems
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and verify compliance with company and project standards
  • Provide technical support and mentorship for junior engineers and site staff
  • Collaborate closely with QA/QC and HSE teams to maintain safety and quality compliance across all systems
