Interior Design Manager – DPL Group
JOB SUMMERY
The Design Manager will be responsible for leading a team of designers, draftsman, with the objective of translating the Client’s design intent into a working, cost efficient POD solution within the time schedule allocated by the Project. It is the sole responsibility of the Design Manager that all the technical drawings and documentation is provided to relevant departments to ensure that Production is meeting the contractual targets set by Projects.
RESPONSIBILITES & DUTIES
1. Ensure that technical deliverables are issued to the client, reviewed, approved and issued to factory production all in accordance with the agreed delivery plan to site.
2. Maintain work plan schedule, drawings logs with due dates, and make sure all milestones are met on time. Report on the progress of the schedule and present updated logs on a weekly basis to the President.
3. Coordinate between the client, the Design Department, Commercial Department & Procurement department to finalize and secure approvals on the design and materials used for POD manufacturing.
4. Engage in team & client meetings or workshops to resolve project issues, review the design, discuss its feasibility and find solutions.
5. Manage all the processes related to producing a final set of drawings to be used for POD manufacturing. (Shop Drawings, Manufacturing Drawings, Purchase Drawings).
6. Provide support in the preparation of BOQ and BOM.
7. Record all important documents and correspondence related to design, to be available for claims.
8. Meet & coordinate with suppliers, fabricators & subcontractors to review proposals.
9. Working with computer-aided design software to create blueprints and 3D.
10. Participate and work closely with project management team, to make sure Manufacturing drawings are provided to the factory on time to meet the delivery schedule.
11. Hands on experience in CAD + Revit drawings and detailing, 2D & 3D.
12. Keep the team motivated and make sure they are working at their optimum productivity level.
13. Prepare progress reports for the client and KPI’s for the President.
14. Come up with innovations to make the manufacturing process easier and faster.
15. Handle the coordination between Architectural, STR and MEP disciplines across different platforms. 16. Attend site meetings for the project to participate in technical discussions when required.
JOB RELATED COMPETENCIES & SPECIFICATIONS
Educational background & Experience:
• At least a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies or a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (B.S. Arch) or a Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies (B.A. Arch).
• A Master’s degree in Architecture is an added advantage.
