General Accountant – Travel Industry – Black Pearl Consult
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented <b>General Accountant</b> to join a family-owned business in Al Ain. The ideal candidate should have <b>2-3 years of accounting experience in the UAE</b>, preferably within the <b>travel and tourism industry</b>, with good knowledge of day-to-day accounting operations and financial documentation.
The candidate should be organized, trustworthy, hands-on, and able to manage accounting tasks independently while supporting the business owners and management with accurate financial information.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, receipts, payments, and expenses.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial documentation.
Prepare invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, and other accounting documents.
Reconcile bank accounts, cash transactions, and other financial records.
Monitor outstanding receivables and payables and conduct necessary follow-ups.
Assist with monthly financial closing and preparation of basic financial reports.
Maintain proper records of expenses, income, and business transactions.
Assist with budgeting, cash-flow monitoring, and expense tracking.
Coordinate with banks, suppliers, customers, and other relevant parties regarding accounting matters.
Ensure accounting records are properly organized and supporting documents are maintained.
Assist with VAT-related documentation and other UAE accounting compliance requirements.
Support management with financial information, reports, and analysis when required.
Handle other accounting and administrative duties related to the business as required.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2-3 years of accounting experience in the UAE.
Previous experience in the travel agency, tourism, or travel-related industry is highly preferred.
Good understanding of general accounting principles and UAE accounting practices.
Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounting tasks.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Candidates currently based in the UAE are preferred.
Willingness to work in Al Ain.
