The Commercial Director is responsible for leading the organisation’s commercial direction and driving revenue growth across all Entertainment business assets (Amusement Parks, Cinemas, Concert Arenas etc). The role oversees commercial strategy execution, sales leadership, partnerships with tour operators, sponsorships, and commercial negotiations to ensure the business achieves sustainable commercial performance.

Description
1. Commercial & Sales Leadership
Develop and execute the commercial strategy across assigned assets and markets.Lead sales operations including B2B, corporate, trade, and partnership sales.Drive consistent execution of sales plans, KPIs, and performance management rhythms.Establish commercial governance, dashboards, and structured pipeline management practices.
2. Enterprise Commercial Strategy Execution
Convert corporate goals into implementable commercial initiatives across the portfolio.Identify and activate new revenue opportunities through partnerships, new channels, and market development.Lead commercial negotiations for sponsorships, partnerships, and large-scale commercial agreements.Drive harmonization of commercial practices and consistency across the business.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration (Critical)
The Commercial Director acts as a strategic partner to key functions but DOES NOT own these areas:Marketing (Reporting to SVP Marketing)Align commercial priorities with marketing campaigns, customer insights, and lead-generation initiatives.Ensure commercial teams leverage market segmentation and brand insights.Revenue Management (Reporting to Strategy)Collaborate on pricing recommendations, demand insights, and performance analysis.Provide sales intelligence to guide revenue optimisation decisions.
4. Commercial Governance & Performance
Lead commercial performance measurement, pipeline discipline, and forecasting accuracy.Review commercial agreements to ensure compliance with governance, risk, and policy standards.Support annual business planning through data-driven commercial input.Contribute to business cases for new assets, investments, and growth programmes.
5. Leadership & Capability Development
Lead and mentor commercial and sales teams across multiple business units.Build a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.Strengthen organisational capability in enterprise selling, negotiation, and partnership management.Role model ethical leadership, commercial discipline, and cross-team collaboration.
Profile
12-15+ years of progressive experience in commercial leadership roles.Strong background in sales strategy, partnerships, business development, and revenue growth.Industry experience in entertainment, theme parks, hospitality, media etc – diversified multi-asset businesses required.Advanced negotiation skills and ability to secure high-value commercial deals.Experience with commercial modelling, forecasting, P&L management and performance analytics.Strong executive communication and cross-functional leadership capability.Ability to integrate strategic, analytical, and operational decision-making.
