Chief Accountant

The Chief Accountant is responsible for managing the full accounting cycle, ensuring accurate financial records, strong internal controls, statutory compliance, and timely reporting. The role supports cash flow management, revenue integrity, and informed decision-making within a mature automotive retail business in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities:

Revenue & Receivables

• Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition across vehicle sales, services, and parts.
• Maintain and reconcile revenue and receivable accounts.
• Monitor customer balances and ensure data integrity between sales systems and accounting records.

Payables & Payroll

• Manage vendor accounts, contracts, invoices, reconciliations, and payment requests.
• Review payroll and prepare salary transfer requests.

Treasury & Cash Management

• Monitor monthly cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts.
• Manage banking relationships, loans, and facilities.
• Handle PDCs, CUCs, petty cash, and daily bank balances.
• Manage debit and credit cards (issuance, usage, reconciliation).
• Process payments via online banking, cheques, and payment portals.
• Prepare tax, social security, utilities, employee advances, and other payment requests.

General Accounting & Closing

• Manage the performance of the bank reconciliations and monthly hard close activities.
• Manage recording operating expenses, rent, deposits, accruals, and prepayments.
• Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and support year-end closing and audits.

Budgeting, Reporting & Compliance

• Lead the annual budgeting process and manage budget monitoring.
• Prepare monthly management reports and variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget).
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and other statutory requirements.
• Oversee financial controls, revenue recognition, and tax compliance.
