Assistant Financial Controller – Michael Page International (UAE) Limited

We are supporting a well-established international organisation within the energy services sector to appoint a Finance professional who will play a key role in financial reporting, consolidation, compliance, and business support. The role will work closely with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and advisors, ensuring strong financial governance, accurate reporting, and adherence to IFRS standards across the business.

Description

Financial Reporting & Consolidation

· Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in line with IFRS.

· Support group consolidation activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial data.

· Analyse complex accounting transactions and ensure correct treatment and disclosure.

· Support statutory reporting requirements and management reporting packs.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

· Support the budgeting and forecasting cycles in coordination with operational teams.

· Perform variance analysis against budget and forecast, providing clear commentary and insights.

· Assist management with financial analysis to support decision-making.

Month-End Close & Accounting

· Manage and support month-end closing activities, including journals, reconciliations, and reviews.

· Ensure balance sheet integrity and resolve accounting issues proactively.

· Maintain strong accounting controls and documentation standards.

Audit, Tax & Compliance

· Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, supporting audit requirements and queries.

· Assist with tax compliance, filings, and coordination with tax advisors.

· Ensure compliance with internal policies, IFRS standards, and local regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Management & Business Support

· Work closely with operations, third-party consultants, auditors, and advisors.

· Communicate financial matters clearly to non-finance stakeholders.

· Support continuous improvement of financial processes and controls.

Profile

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

· Strong experience in IFRS accounting, and financial reporting.

· Proven exposure to audit, tax, and compliance matters.

· Experience handling complex accounting transactions.

· Big Four experience is a strong advantage.

· Dutch experience, Dutch work exposure, Dutch compliance, or extensive interaction with Big Four firms in the Netherlands would be essential

· UAE experience is an added advantage.

· Background within oil & gas or a B2B industrial environment preferred.

· Moderate systems knowledge, including ERP environments.

· Previous people management or team supervision experience is a plus.

· Strong communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
